My client is looking for an experienced Substation Engineer / technician in a full time, permanent role based out of a brand new depot in Aberdeen.
You will be looking after everything from LV up to 400kv equipment from breakers / transformers / filters / Switchgear / primary plant / as well as the ancillary equipment that goes with it.
You will in the main be maintaining the breakers that come from all over the country then sending them back again. There will be an aspect of stores management eg goods in / out, stores and stocks etc. This will realistically equate to around 30% of your role.
The other 70% of your time will be of course be hands on repairing / maintaining breakers and other kit and reporting back to line managers etc.
An ideal role for a substation engineer looking to take a static role with minimal travel.
Responsibilities will include :
Ensure the kit is compliant with quality management systems
Experience in HV Substation builds / maintenance / service
Ability to fix / maintain equipment associated with sub stations
Handle deliveries and collections of goods
Spares ordering and stock management
Ensure the company management system is being used
Conduct Planned Maintenance
Looking for a candidate from a Power infrastructure background.
Apprentice trained / HNC/D in electrical Engineering
FLT Licence would be a bonus
Able to work independently and deliver results
Experience in stores / stock controlling in the past
Drive and the ability to engage with people
Ability to report
A flexible attitude to work
