To provide a comprehensive safeguarding service to colleagues working in Midlothian schools and nurseries. This will include the development and provision of a child protection and safeguarding training programme, the development and implementation of quality assurance processes across schools and nurseries and the provision of support, guidance and advice to ensure safeguarding obligations are met.

Key liaison person between education and Children Services to ensure consistency between them in relation to Safeguarding and Child Protection.

Responsible for developing council policy and guidance documentation for Safeguarding and Child Protection.

Essential

Degree or equivalent level qualification.

Sound knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection with a Post Graduate Certificate in Child Protection.

Excellent IT skills

A proven track record of delivering effective training.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on you working 18.50 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £16,574.72 per annum.

Requirements

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
