Salary: £22,866 - £36,480
This post is for the position of Broad General Education Teacher. Experience of working in an educational environment with young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs is essential, while experience of working with Young People with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) would be desirable.
Gorgie Mills School supports young people of secondary school age, all with varying degrees of social, emotional and behavioural needs. The school provides a nurturing environment for the young people, including ASD Support and incorporates an Intensive Support Base for those young people with more complex needs. The school follows the Curriculum for Excellence guidelines within the National Qualification frameworks. This is augmented by project-based learning techniques and is committed to a multi-agency approach to support our students’ needs. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
