Database Developer - SQL
Database Developer & BI Analyst required for an organisation in Glasgow. The role is working within a newly created team and you will be working for a company who make a huge difference to people's lives. The company are looking for someone with a fairly broad skillset, however you definitely don't have to be well versed in all areas as they will provide plenty training.
The role is 70% Database Development, but it will additionally involve a little bit of User Acceptance Testing, DBA work and Analyst/Programmer work. You will be working within a team of 15, however the database team itself is 4. The role has arisen due to a review of the whole company's operations function, and this has led to a few new roles in IT. The company are rapidly growing, and the income has increased substantially the past few years.
With the number of users increasing, there will be a big focus on automation and documentation going forward and the company require strong staff to carry this out. The organisation is a genuinely nice place to work and personality and team culture is a big thing for them. They want people to buy into the company culture and to understand why they do what they do. They also invest heavily in training and always want people to feel like they are developing within the role.
Key Skills and Experience:
** Strong SQL knowledge including building complex queries and administrative scripts (SQL 2008 onwards)
** Knowledge of ETL tools such as SSIS as well as Stored Procedures
** Knowledge of other BI tools such as SSRS
** Understanding of automation processes and documentation
** User Acceptance Testing
** Experience/understanding of Database Administration would be beneficial
