We need an innovative and determined school leader to play an influential role to ensure that our young people achieve the best educational outcomes. To be successful you will utilise your highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills to inspire and motivate teachers and to continue to build secure and trusting partnerships across the Tranent Community and beyond.
The vision of St Martin’s RC Primary School is a learning place for all of the school community and to provide a safe, nurturing and caring environment in which all pupils achieve their full potential and have the confidence and skills to meet the challenges of the future.
St Martin’s Primary School serves the educational needs Denominational and Non-denominational pupils in Tranent and surrounding areas teaching pupils from P1 to P7. The school roll is currently 219, which includes 33 nursery pupils. The nursery class operates a morning and afternoon session. The school benefits from an active and well established Parent Council who are supportive of the school and work collaboratively to ensure the school is an integral part of the community.
The secondary school catchment area is Ross High School, Tranent but denominational pupils are welcome to make an application as non-district pupils to St David’s RC Secondary School, Dalkeith.

The role of the Head Teacher is, within the resources available, to conduct the affairs of both Schools to the benefit of the pupils and the communities they serve, through pursuing objectives and implementing policies set by East Lothian Council under the overall direction of the Depute Chief Executive, Resources and People Services.

Full GTCS Registration is required.
