Job Title: Commercial Manager
Location: Glasgow or Reading
Salary: Up to £56,500 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus
Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 37 hours per week
The Commercial Team is a core function within SSE's Retail organisation. Created 3 years ago, the team has grown to develop and manage the commercial strategy and portfolio including pricing, metering contracts, energy demand, and commercial planning. The Retail organisation faces a breath of challenge and opportunity, and the role of the Commercial Planning team is key to ensuring we deliver customer growth in a sustainable and profitable manner.
Reporting into the Head of Commercial Planning, the Commercial Manager will be responsible for the management of our 5-year customer number plan and the development of commercial opportunities to drive commercial and competitive advantage. You'll also be accountable for the development and delivery of our commercial plan ensuring all business cases are robust, commercially viable and support our business objectives.
Your Skills and Experience
We're looking for someone with the ability to perform commercial modelling and draw sound business conclusions/recommendations, who also has a macro and micro understanding of commercial and business drivers. Experience in long term forecasting (5 year) in addition to multi-product/sector planning and forecasting is preferable, whilst experience in the domestic energy sector would be beneficial. You'll be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills, who can manage multiple projects and present complex information in an understandable and succinct way. Your negotiation skills and commercial acumen coupled with your analytical and insight experience will help you be successful in this role.
