SALARY £31,345 TO £41,396 (DEPENDING ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE) full-time 37 hours
SSE is one of the largest and most diverse Energy companies in the UK and Ireland with around 7 million customers and over 19,000 staff. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Officer based in Glasgow.
Working in the Procurement Operations Team you will be responsible for the delivery of tactical sourcing and contract administration for all Business Units within the Group.
One of the key aspects of this role is to support the Procurement & Commercial function across SSE by efficiently delivering services across the allocated work streams. You will be in the unique position of facing off to procurement and logistics colleagues in the wider team, internal business customers and external suppliers. This role is viewed as an entrance path into the SSE Procurement function and the wider SSE group; by becoming familiar with procurement practices, procedures and systems you are ideally placed for further development.
Via our Emptoris System you will conduct sourcing events in line with Category Sourcing Strategies and all relevant procurement policies and procedures. You will also process Orders and Agreements in our various Purchasing Systems which include Oracle in the main.
To be successful in this role, you should have a good knowledge and understanding of the supply chain process, procurement process and procurement systems. You should also have experience of sourcing, negotiating and placing contracts.
You should have strong communication skills, be self-motivated and resilient. You should have excellent organisational skills and ability to work effectively within a dynamic team. A high level of numeracy and accuracy is essential for this role.
