Job Title: Team Leader - Hydro Operations
Location: Shin Power Station, near Lairg
Salary: £31,345 - £41,396 depending on skills and experience + benefits + annual bonus

Our Operations Teams are responsible for the operation and maintenance of our Hydro Generation assets. As Team Leader, you'll be accountable for the day to day management and supervision of a multi-disciplined team of crafts persons and semi-skilled staff who perform the operations and maintenance on the Hydro Power Stations and associated water catchment areas within the geographic area. This will include carrying out performance management.
Some of your other responsibilities will include;
-Looking after the safety of the general public, environment, staff and contractors within the area. -Ensuring plant within the section is in a safe and efficient condition.
-Co-ordinate and plan the section workload, utilising a computer-based maintenance system, to deliver the expected high standards of plant performance, availability and reliability.
-Ensure technical, legislative; environment and safety standards are met and manage packages of work.
-Undertake authorisation training to perform HV switching, plant operations and isolations plus authorised person duties up to Auxiliary Plant Authorisation under the Generation System Safety Rules.
Your Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone who has supervisory or managerial experience, an electrical or mechanical background in conjunction with a recognised apprenticeship or similar qualification. Ideally, you'll have several years' experience working on Hydro Generation or similar heavy rotating plant. We're also looking for you to hold or be willing to study towards an engineering based HNC or equivalent.
Excellent communication, analytical and technical skills will be essential as you'll be expected to liaise directly with clients, management, contractors and other staff on a daily basis, ensuring all work is undertaken to the company's requirements and safety standards. As an individual, you'll be a highly motivated, flexible, safety conscious person who has the ability to service the needs of the company, manage emergent work and lead the team safely and efficiently.
Progression is possible by completing the necessary training and assessment process, followed by carrying out the duties and responsibilities of AP1/CPS/CPO under the Generation System Safety Rules.
Travel will be required, therefor, a full UK driving licence is essential for this role and applicants should ideally reside, or be prepared to relocate to within 30 miles of Lairg.
