The Magnum Restaurant and Bar is located in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town. Our team of chefs take the finest local seasonal produce to create dishes that are a mix of classic and contemporary cuisine. We currently have an opportunity for a great Sous Chef to join our team – this is a full-time permanent position.
About The Role Of Sous Chef
Working a four-day week, we are ideally looking for someone who is passionate about food & using seasonal quality fresh ingredients. You will have a proven track record of working to the highest standards in a busy food establishment.
The successful Sous Chef candidate will:
- Be an excellent team player with a positive & enthusiastic attitude.
- Have evidence of at least 3 year’s experience and a proven track record gained in a busy food establishment.
- Be someone who takes pride in their work serving food to the highest standards
This position is ideal for someone who is wanting to progress their career in hospitality.

As Sous Chef you will be passionate, flexible and have an eye for detail. The position involves all aspects of running the kitchen including stock control and ordering, ensuring health and hygiene standards are maintained, implementing company standards and procedures. Creation of dishes, menu planning, costings and all other administration duties involved.
You will be fully involved in all aspects of the kitchen operation, in addition to menu compilation and ensuring that all aspects of the operation comply with legislative requirements. You will also be expected to deputise for the Head Chef in his absence.
- £22,000 per annum
