We have a thrilling Year in Industry placement opportunity, to provide scientific support within our Power Station Performance and Regulation Team at Markinch CHP. Ideally you are currently studying Chemistry, Chemical Process Engineering, Environmental Science or a similar technical or scientific subject.
In this dynamic role, you will to respond to how the Power Station is performing each day. Working as part of a team, you will manage asset health and integrity by:
- monitoring plant performance through data analysis & interpretation
- collecting samples and undertaking chemical testing
- providing recommendations for improvements, with support from colleagues
- implementing systems and solutions to improve asset operation
- managing/participating in a chemistry based project that will improve site monitoring and operation
RWE is investing in Markinch CHP. The state-of-the-art Energy Centre will be able to provide local district heating as part of the Glenrothes Energy Network, this first project of its kind for RWE in the UK. This placement will include project support opportunities, increasing your exposure and experience in delivering a high value project through all stages of design, construction, commissioning and commercial handover.
How will we support you during your placement?
You will attend courses, workshops and on the job training for your own personal development.
You will have opportunities to travel and work at other sites and RWE central labs, where more advanced analytical techniques can be employed in a demanding environment.
