Business Affairs Executive

Up to £49,000 salary depending on experience – 6 Month FTC

Full-Time - based in Central Edinburgh

One of Reed’s public sector clients in based in Central Edinburgh are currently looking to recruit a Business Affairs Executive on a permanent basis.  The successful candidate will be responsible providing legal and business affairs support and advice in relation to various work streams for one of their subsidiary partnerships.

Duties involved in this role will include:-

·    Working with various internal and external stakeholders such as solicitors, advisors and financing partners ensuring that all legal and business affairs are compliant and fit for purpose

·    Providing regular updates and details of production agreements

·    Participate and contribute to conference calls with heads of department and external stakeholders, providing advice when required

·    Acting as first point of contact for external or third party legal advisors, dealing with any issues or queries

·    Drafting agreements alongside external legal advisors, discussing anomalies and creating final drafts

·    Overseeing budget and payment schedules, ensuring they are on track with funding and projects

·    Ensuring that all internal and external stakeholders are aware of any material changes to transactions or challenges to project completion

·    Carrying out various general admin duties including diary management and collation of paperwork when required

In order to be considered for this role, candidates must have the following:-

·    Previous experience in a similar role dealing with both internal and external stakeholders and legal advice – this experience essential, and any experience with funding or financing would be advantageous

·    A legal qualification would be desirable but is not essential, candidates with a proven track record of success in a similar role without a legal qualification would be considered at the same level

·    Experience of dealing with the drafting and construction of contracts

·    Experience of working within the creative industry (especially in film) would be advantageous

·    Solid IT skills, in particular MS Office including Word Excel and PowerPoint

·    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build solid relationships with stakeholders at various levels both internally and externally

·    Excellent analysis skills, with the ability to make informed and logical decisions
